Key sequences
As this is the close study, single film unit, you should have thorough knowledge and understanding of all of Vertigo.
Some critics have pointed out a number of key scenes however that they feel are essential in terms of plot and character development and Hitchcock's use of stylistic techniques. These are:
1) Ernie's restaurant - Chapter 5
2) The Tower - Chapter 19
3) The Transformation - Chapter 30
The Transformation Sequence:
Hitchcock offers an alternative point of view of the sequence in an Interview with Truffaut - warning: it's a bit rude!
